2 Signs You Need To Call A Septic Tank Repair Company

Blog

A septic system is a way to handle the wastewater that your house produces if you don't live near a municipal sewerage connection. The system is made up of a multi-chambered tank and a leech field. The leech field is part of your yard, where the water that has filtered through the septic tank eventually seeps into the ground. The field will have a series of pipes running through it with small holes that will let the water out. The pipes run underground, and you shouldn't be affected by the water that seeps into the leech field, at least not when your septic tank is functioning normally. You need to know some of the signs that your septic tank needs repairs so that you can call the septic company as soon as possible.

Overly Green Grass

You might not think that having overly green grass is a bad thing, but when it is happening only in your leech field and if you are seeing it out of season, it's a sign that there is a huge problem with your septic system. It can be a sign that your leech field is failing and that more water is getting into the field than there should be, and that the water is filled with more nutrients than it should be. Being exposed to all that extra water and possible extra nutrients is going to give the grass a boost. It can also be a sign that your septic tank needs to be pumped, if the tank goes too long without being pumped, the pressure from the incoming waste will push water through the tank faster than it should, and then out into the leech field.

Slow Drains

If your drains are really slow to drain, that can be a sign that you have a clog somewhere in the system, but if you have a septic system, it's more likely a sign that you need to have your tank pumped. The tank will build up sludge over the years, and when there is too much sludge, the tank needs to be pumped to get rid of all that sludge. How often your tank needs to be pumped out depends on the size of your tank and the amount of usage it gets. Talk to the septic repair company since they can tell you when it should be pumped.

If you have a septic tank, you are going to do everything that you can to keep your tank in good shape. Keeping an eye out for any signs that your tank might be failing is the best way to do it.

Building Septic Tanks on New Properties: Tips, Facts and Ideas

Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Heather, and a few years ago, my partner and I got a very cheap property up in the mountains practically in the middle of nowhere. I knew we had to build, but there were many elements that I overlooked. I never even considered the idea that we wouldn't be connected to a town sewer system for example. However, I learned quickly as we built our septic tank. Through the process, I also researched a lot of alternatives to ensure we got the perfect septic system for our needs. If you are building on a new property and you don't have the option of sewer, this blog has everything you need to know about septic systems. I truly love to help others, and I hope these posts help you.
