2 Things That Need To Happen So You Can Get Your New Septic Tank

Blog

If you need to have a new septic tank put in, it's not necessarily as easy as having the septic company come in, pull out the tank, and put in a new one. There are things that are going to have to be done in order to get your new septic tank put in.

Evaluation

One of the things that is going to have to happen is that the area where your tank is will need to be evaluated. The company is going to look for things like whether or not the area is still suitable for a tank or if the current tank is in good enough shape to be removed or if you will need to make other arrangements for the tank. If you need to place the tank elsewhere, the septic company will point out where the best place for a new tank is.

Excavation

Another part of the process, no matter if you are moving the tank or putting it in the same place is that they are going to need to do excavation work in the area. The septic company will come in with an excavator and dig around where the tank is. The hole they dig will have to be larger than the tank or where the new tank is going to be. That's because the people from the septic company are going to need to have plenty of room to work around the tank. How big the excavator the septic company will bring or the excavating company will bring depends on a couple of things. One of those is your yard. It's going to be very hard to bring in a large excavator if your yard is small or if the access to your yard is difficult. There are smaller tractors that excavating buckets can be put on so that they can get into smaller areas. Those excavators aren't able to go down as deep as the larger machines can, so the people doing the digging may have to do some extra work to get down as far as necessary. The nice thing about the excavators is that they can also be used to pull up the empty septic tank so that it can get hauled away.

If you need to replace your septic tank, there are things that need to happen in order to get the new tank into place so that it can be used.

Building Septic Tanks on New Properties: Tips, Facts and Ideas

Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Heather, and a few years ago, my partner and I got a very cheap property up in the mountains practically in the middle of nowhere. I knew we had to build, but there were many elements that I overlooked. I never even considered the idea that we wouldn't be connected to a town sewer system for example. However, I learned quickly as we built our septic tank. Through the process, I also researched a lot of alternatives to ensure we got the perfect septic system for our needs. If you are building on a new property and you don't have the option of sewer, this blog has everything you need to know about septic systems. I truly love to help others, and I hope these posts help you.
